The company already has an 11.9 litre, dubbed the ISX12. Simplifying the nomenclature to X12 follows that undertaken with the ISX15, which after some useful but not fundamental upgrades, has become the X15. The ISX12, when first launched, was shipped in from a Cummins joint-venture plant in China, but it is now being produced in the US, with Kenworth tipped as the first OEM to offer it. <br />Its transformation from ISX12 to X12, with accompanying important weight savings and marketing hype, almost exactly parallels Navistar's 12.4 litre transition from N13 to A26.
