Ford claims to outpace industry in Europe

Ford Motor Company claims its overall sales in Europe continue to outpace industry growth in the first quarter of 2015.

Piaskowski to head Ford of Europe design

Ford Motor Company has named Joel Piaskowski, a design leader with 24 years of international automotive experience, as its new director, Design, Ford of Europe, from 1 July.

Piaskowski, 45, replaces Martin Smith, 64, who led Ford of Europe's award-winning design group for the past 10 years.

Ford begins ‘full electric’ vehicle production

Ford Motor Company has begun a ‘new chapter’ in its vehicle manufacturing history with the start of production of the all-new Ford Focus Electric – the first full-electric vehicle to be built by Ford in Europe.
The zero-emission Focus Electric is spearheading Ford's line-up of electrified and ‘highly fuel-efficient vehicles’. It will be joined in Europe by the Ford C‑MAX Energi plug-in hybrid electric vehicle next year, followed by the all-new Ford Mondeo Hybrid soon after.

Developed as a "One Ford" global vehicle, the Focus Electric is said to feature an advanced electric motor and lithium-ion battery powertrain that produces 145PS and achieves a top speed of 84 mile/h.

Greenwell to retire from Ford

Ford of Britain chairman Joe Greenwell CBE has ‘elected’ to retire effective end of April 2013. Mark Ovenden, currently managing director, will add the chairman’s role to his responsibilities.

Chairman of Ford of Britain since 2009, Greenwell was also president of the automotive industry body the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in 2009 and 2010.

Greenwell's career in the motor industry spans over 40 years.
