Volkswagen group tops 7 million

Volkswagen Group delivered 7.40 million vehicles from January to September - an increase of 5.3 per cent.
Group board member for sales Christian Klingler said in Wolfsburg today,"Even though markets remain challenging, we nevertheless have the chance to reach the ten million deliveries mark this year – four years earlier than originally planned."

VW sees sales grow nearly 6%

Volkswagen Group delivered 2.4 million (January-March 2013: 2.27 million; +5.8 per cent) vehicles from January to March.

Deliveries in the month of March ran at 929,500 (March 2013: 864,100; +7.6 per cent)* units.

VW results reveal winners and losers

2013 was an extremely challenging year for European automakers in particular, including the Volkswagen Group.

“We were not helped by our home market or by exchange rates. Nevertheless, Volkswagen Group not only met but beat its targets for 2013 despite the challenging competitive environment." said Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, chairman of the board of management of Volkswagen AG.

VW group sales rise five per cent

Volkswagen Group vehicle deliveries in the first half of 2013 reached 4.7 million (against 4.45 million in January – June 2012); a rise of 5.5 per cent.

Deliveries in June were slightly up at 827,800 (June 2012: 798,500); a rise of 3.7 per cent).

Group brands suffered a drop of 3.5 per cent with a total of 1.87 million vehicles sold on the overall European market in the first half year, against 1.93 million in the first six months of 2012.

Volkswagen first quarter sales rise 5%


Volkswagen Group delivered 2.27 million vehicles in the period January to March 2013, a rise of 5.1 per cent on the same period in 2012 of 2.16 million.

The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand delivered 1.43 million units world-wide from January to March compared with 1.36 million in 2012 – a rise of 5.2 per cent. The brand developed well in the Asia-Pacific region, where deliveries ran at 653,500, up 20.9 per cent on 540,600 in 2012. In North America, Volkswagen Passenger Cars sales rose 7.3 per cent to 145,700 (135,700), while deliveries on the overall European market, which remained difficult with a fall of 10.3 per cent ran at 396,300 units.
