Will Cummins ever integrate vertically?

It is not unreasonable to think that 12 or 18 months ago, at least one Cummins senior executive might have mulled over the question in his mind in a quiet moment: Is it time for the company to integrate vertically?

But this adventure had to be scrapped when it became clear that an EGR-only strategy for the company’s engines was a ‘no go’ area as a means of meeting emissions requirements.

Launched in 2010 in a 4x2 configuration, the TerraStar, is the smaller sibling to the DuraStar.
