General Motors has reported a strong earnings growth for the second
quarter with net income attributable to common stockholders of $1.1 billion,
which included a $1.1 billion loss from special items before tax.

GM and Cosworth heading for F1?
Is it
possible General Motors of the US and Cosworth of Northampton UK could be
heading for Formula 1?
On a day when Infiniti Red Bull Racing was given the
freedom of the borough of Milton Keynes, UK, the rumour mill is in overdrive.
The mill suggests GM could be set to join F1. But the rumour mill could be
wrong. It also thinks that Ford could be heading in the same direction.

Vauxhall grad heads for Detroit
Duncan
Aldred, chairman and managing director of Vauxhall Motors and chief executive
officer of Opel Ireland is to be based at GM’s headquarters in Detroit from 1 March.
Aldred is appointed US vice–president, Buick-GMC sales,
service and marketing. This will be his first hands-on experience of life at GM
in the US, no doubt paving the way for further senior roles within the
corporation.
