A recent
advertisement in Transport Topics offered some interesting reading.
Attorneys at law, Miller Weisbrod LLP of 11551 Forest
Drive, Dallas, Texas raised a number of questions in their advertisement under
the headline: MaxxForce engine problems?
Do you have a 2010-2011 Navistar International truck
with a MaxxForce engine? Have you experienced repeated and excessive
breakdowns? Have you attempted to sell or trade your Navistar International
truck only to receive low offers? And have you experienced substantial
downtime, expenses or lost profits because of your International truck with a
MaxxForce engine?
The attorneys at law then point out in their
advertisement: “If you answered YES to any of these questions then call” and
offered an 888 number in the US.
In small type at the conclusion of their advertisement
Miller Weisbrod informed: “We currently are investigating claims in all 50
states involving 2010-2012 International trucks with MaxxForce engines.”

This bodes ill for Navistar's financial health, with big compensation bills looming in respect of MaxxForce engine problems. The firm is already well in the red; in the three months ended January 31, it recorded losses of $248 million, though reporting 'an upward trend in sales'.
