Volkswagen
Commercial Vehicles (VCV) has recorded its best ever half-year sales
performance in the UK.
A
total of 20,907 light commercial vehicles were registered to the end of June,
representing an 11.3 per cent increase in sales compared to 18,782 registrations
over the same period last year.
VCV also registered an additional 1,939
camper vans and passenger carriers taking total registrations to 22,846, up
10.1 per cent on 2013.
All models enjoyed strong half-year sales in
the UK, resulting in a market share of 14.7 per cent.
The Transporter continued to be the most
popular Volkswagen commercial vehicle having achieved a 7.8 per cent increase
in sales.
Customer deliveries of the Amarok were up by
44.9 per cent; Crafter deliveries rose by 40 per cent; while registrations of
Caddy remained strong, with more than 7,000 delivered to customers in the first
six months of the year.
VCV also recorded its best June sales with
4,146 vehicles registered, up 16.3 per cent when compared with the same period
last year (June 2013: 3,566).
