Turnaround at Vauxhall


Vauxhall claims that its Vivaro UK van plant in Luton, Bedfordshire is working “almost full capacity”.
The news comes on top of good financial news for the company which, because of the manner in which General Motors’ European divisions report their results.

Accordingly, Vauxhall Motors has made pre-tax profits of £41 million in the six months to 31 December 2014 on sales of £1.9 billion.

This is against a loss of £53.8 million for the previous half year.

Vauxhall, which is launching the next generation Astra next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, has seen car sales rise 0.8 per cent to 125,840 in a market share of 10.7 per cent
